St. Dominics trip!

Well, I thought I had escaped Reese's "baby" years without a single catostrophe, however Friday night proved me wrong! We went to Jackson on Thursday night because Blaine had a meeting Friday morning and we had a wedding to go to on Saturday plus Reese wanted to see G.G and Doc! We had a laid back fun night Thursday and a pretty calm day friday, we went to dinner that night and noticed that Reese was acting very strange and kept having the shivers. We got home from eating and took her temp and poor baby's temp was 103. Since my dad is the patient pharmacist at St. Dominic's hospital he suggested that we take her up to the E.R. just to have her checked out. We got there around 11:30 and ended up leaving at 4:00 in the morning, needless to say it was a long night. Have many hours of flu tests, drawn blood, and chest x-rays, the docs determined that she had the beginnings of pneumonia, it was truly an awful night, she has never cried so much in her life. I feel certain that next time that she See's anyone in scrubs she will start screaming and saying "no mama" it was really scary and I felt so sorry for her. After many failed atempts to try and get her started on a a drip, She had to get a HUGE shot in her little thigh and they sent us home finally! She is resting at home with me this week until she gets back to 100%! I am so glad my sweet girl is feeling better, she is pretty much spoiled rotten now, I have a hard time telling her no after that ordeal!

P.S.- Alex is jealous that Reese is getting all the attention, so on behalf of Mr. Alex he has a cold and is hoarse, who knew dogs could lose their voices or catch a cold for that matter!

Missing

Excuse me, has anyone seen my baby? I took a picture of this toddler this morning before school, I sure do miss my little baby! I could not get over how much Reese has grown up, she looks like a 3 year old in this photo, it makes me so sad. She was feeling very sassy this morning and I had to take a pic! Enjoy!

St. Patty's Day Parade in Jackson

We went to Doc and G.G's house for the weekend and had a great time! We took Reese to the St. Patrick's day parade downtown and she had a great time! We had to steer her through crowds of highly intoxicated chain smoking freaks but she still had fun and caught lots of beads. Blaine had her up in the front so she got lots of attention.

22 weeks and counting

Here is a picture of my expanding baby bump, although I am pretty sure I have moved past the "bump" stage to a full fledged baby tummy! I am 22 weeks today (5 1/2 months). This pregnancy is flying by, I can not imagine why, it's not like I do not have a 15 month old to chase around all of the time! Reese got mad that I was getting my picture made and not her so I had to pick her up and let her be in the picture..can not imagine where she got that from. Please excuse the mismatched outfit, she had an accident at school today and this was the only back-up in her bag, a Christmas t-shirt and valentines pants, not to be outdone by the one side pigtail, there were 2 but this is how it usually looks by the end of the day! oh well, at least she started the day out cute!

Speaking of Bad Hair.....

Well, I bit the bullet and got Mr. Alex his "summer" do, I did not plan on Petsmart turning my fluffy Pomeranian into a chihuahua. They really shaved him as close to the skin as possible, he feels so much better, but he looks so funny. People do not have any idea how tiny he is until I shave him, his hair adds at least 5 lbs. to him. He is really teeny tiny! He usually looks like a gigantic brown cotton ball, I am not sure how long it is going to take me to get used to this! I went and picked him up and then had to go get Reese from school, she was super excited that there was a dog in her car, but she was not sure who the dog was. I kept saying ALEX, and she would just look at him with a seriously confused look on her face, usually when she see's him she starts yelling "A-D-E-X" that's what she calls him ( we are working on changing that D to a L)Keep your fingers crossed that Mr. Adex's hair grows back soon so people will recognize him again!

My Tired Little Leprechaun

So here is Miss Reese after meltdown number 15! You know it is going to be a bad afternoon when you pick your child up from daycare and the teacher wishes you luck! Apparently Reese did not want to take a nap today! She made it out of the parking lot of the grocery store before she crashed, here she is sleeping in our bed, she looks so sweet and peaceful...once she woke up it was a different story, she did not nap long enough! Happy St. Patty's Day from our grumpy little leprechaun!

Where does all this hair come from??

Just having a snack, not knowing how fabulous her hair is! Mom is so jealous!

So anybody that knows me knows that I do not have lots of hair, I look like I do after hours of teasing and hot rollers, but it is extremely fine and has zero body, I have gone to extreme measures to get big fabulous hair, extensions, VERY BAD PERMS, etc.. but my child has TONS of it. I am so jealous, she has 2 huge pigtails that sit on top of her head..too cute!!

Obsessed

Who are these adorable kids you are probably wondering, are they my niece's or maybe cousins, or could they be some of my friends children...no these adorable little ladies are part of my newest sick obsession, Little Miss Perfect! This is a new television show that comes on the WB channel and I am obsessed with it. I have always been kind of crazy when it came to childrens beauty pageants, I am not sure why, we were never in them as children except for the one I was in..however that is a lot of wine and and a long story. I think it is so crazy how these mothers spend thousands and thousand of dollars on these outfits, or "western wear" as they proudly call it, you could buy a used Honda Accord for what these little ladies spend on one pageant. It totally blew my mind how one could really justify spending $2,000 on a talent costume, seriously people what kind of talent can a 2 year old have short of being cute! These kids transform from dirty little kids, to grown up looking girls. I think the best part was when they spray tanned a 4 year old, let her play outside and get a tan. They all wear fake nails, and have fake teeth that they wear so people can not see where they are missing them! It is truly tragic, but the worst part is really the mothers, these women are fake nail wearing, permed and "frosted" hair teasing, Lycra loving, Virgina Slim smoking, Sears shopping, missing several of their own teeth train wrecks! they are the best part of the show, I guess they are living vicariously through their daughters, and the POOR husbands who have to foot the bill for all of this nonsense are usually no where to be found, until their wives drag them to the competitions that are usually held in lovely establishments like the Howard Johnson Inn, or if it is a real fancy pageant they might have it at the Garden Inn Marriott (connected to the airport) I have just gotten the biggest kick out of watching this show, you should seriously check it out! and if you ever see me in Lycra smoking a Virgina Slim standing outside of a Howard Johnson Inn, well you will know what I am doing there!!!

P.S.- The dark hair girl in the photo won...
